I didn't know whether to add this under Costumery or Photography...but since I didn't take the photo (but I did make the costume) I put it under costumery.
My original design Burlesque Poison Ivy outfit, worn at DragonCon 2011. I entered this in the Comic Book Babes contest, but sadly I didn't win anything.
I made the entire costume, with the exception of the gloves and stockings, which were ordered from welovecolors.com. My shoes were plain pumps purchased on ebay for $10, which I then covered with green glitter and sealed with clear acrylic sealant. This was my first time making a real steel-boned corset, and I'm super happy with how it turned out!
It's not visible here, but the skirt has a long train trimmed in emerald green lace, and the border of the entire skirt is hand-stencilled with a flower and vine pattern, which I then embellished with individual swarovski crystals, also by hand. Lots of tedious work. The jewelry I happened to find last minute at a korean gift shop XD
It would take a while, since I'm a full-time student and work full-time as well. Send me an email, x23.616@gmail.com and we can talk about details if you're interested in something.
I love the concept
And you totally should have won something in the contest. This is just gorgeous!
If I had a mate who was that good at making costumes I'd be set for Whitby Goth Weekend
Works really well white the pale background to contrast
